In his explosive book,  Spare, which was published in 2023, the Duke of Sussex revealed the tumult surrounding his and Meghanâs wedding day in 2018.
There were tabloid rumors that Meghan made Kate cry before the wedding.
In her infamous Oprah interview, Meghan insisted it was the other way around, but added: âI donât think itâs fair to her to get into the details, because she apologized. And Iâve forgiven her.â
Harry, however, was more than happy to get into the details.
With Kate and Williamâs daughter, Charlotte, scheduled to attend their wedding, Harry stated that there was a disagreement over the fit of her dress.
He recalls Kate contacting Meghan just four days before the wedding to tell her that the âFrench Coutureâ outfits needed to be remade.
He claims Kate felt frustrated because Meghan did not respond to her right away.
âMeg didnât reply to Kate straight away,â says Harry. âYes, she had endless wedding-related texts, but mostly she was dealing with the chaos surrounding her father. So the next morning she texted Kate that our tailor was standing by.â
âThis wasnât sufficient,â he adds.
Harry says that Kate later complained: âCharlotteâs dress is too big, too long, too baggy. She cried when she tried it on a[t] home.â
To which Meghan replied: âRight, and I told you the tailor has been standing by since 8am. Here. At KP. Can you take Charlotte to have it altered, as the other mums are doing?â
However, Kate reportedly disagreed, saying: âNo, all the dresses need to be remade.â
Harry says: âMeg asked if Kate was aware of what was going on right now. With her father. Kate said she was well aware, but the dresses. And the wedding is in four days!â
To which Meghan snapped back: âYes, Kate, I know⌠â
Harry recalls Meghan telling Kate: âIâm not sure what else to say. If the dress doesnât fit then please take Charlotte to see Ajay. Heâs been waiting all day,â to which Kate replies: âFine.â
After returning home to the aftermath of the disagreement, Harry says he found Meghan in tears âsobbing on the floorâ.
The following day, Kate apparently came round with a bouquet of flowers and a card to apologise for the misunderstanding.
At the time, the Royal Family chose not to comment on Harryâs allegations in Spare.
