Aubrey Plaza has opened up about some rather unconventional advice about her on-set wardrobe—or the lack of one.
The Megapolis star revealed that she often forgoes wearing underwear while filming.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly alongside her My Old Ass co-star Maisy Stella, Plaza admitted, “Maybe I should’ve worn underwear, but I never do. And then I get f***ed.”
She explained her choice by saying that skipping underwear helps her body feel more flexible, which she considers important for acting.
She said, “I feel like acting is all about, you have to have your body in this weird malleable state.”
“Never have to pee when you’re doing a scene. Even if you a little bit are like, ‘Maybe I have to pee,’ just get it all out.”
She also added, “Just get whatever fluids out. Be like an empty vessel. And if you don’t wear underwear, it can come out faster.”
“So don’t ever wear underwear in life.”
While it’s unclear how seriously she meant it, her comments have already gone viral.
Even though Plaza might have her own thoughts about going without underwear, that hasn’t kept her from including it in her red carpet-outfits.
At the New York City premiere of Megalopolis, she wore a sheer lace Dolce & Gabbana outfit that highlighted high-waisted briefs.
Similarly, at the 2023 SAG Awards, she turned heads in a bronze sequin Michael Kors ensemble, making a striking statement.
On top of that, Plaza is making waves for her latest role in Agatha: Coven of Chaos, the Marvel spin-off featuring Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness.
